Rich Harpole
The US Army brought me to the Barstow community in 1983 when I was assigned to Fort Irwin, which is where I met my wife, Donna. We were married in 1984 and decide to make Barstow our home. Not long after we were married, I received an Honorable Discharge from the Army and went to work for the Barstow Police Department.
I worked as a patrol officer and detective focusing much of my efforts on the drug and gang problems our community experienced in the late 80's and early 90's.
I continued to rise through the ranks and retired as a lieutenant in 2008.
Along the way, my wife and I raised our daughter here and as a family, we have been proud to support the community through a variety of organizations, principally the Boys & Girls Club and the Miss Barstow Pageant. Barstow has been good to us, and we believe that giving back to our community is important.
My entire adult life has involved some type of service to community and country and even though I have retired professionally, I would like to continue my service to Barstow...as a member of your City Council. Our community faces a number of challenges but none that we cannot overcome.
In November you will be asked to elect new Council members and I would appreciate your support.
